The Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 has been undergoing significant reforms, including the proposed introduction of civil penalties and expanded reporting obligations relating to grievance mechanisms and remediation. The Australian Government has also been consulting on whether the Act should be expanded to include a due diligence requirement for companies and allow for the issuing of high-risk declarations.
