ISO 45001, the internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management, is expected to undergo revision.
While still at an early stage, the process is moving forward, with the next committee meeting planned for May 2025 and publication likely to follow in 2027.
We don’t yet know the full scope of the proposed changes, but we do know they’re coming – and that certified organisations will need to prepare. Early discussions suggest areas of focus could include the impacts of climate change on workplace safety, greater emphasis on wellbeing and stronger support for a diverse workforce.
